If you want to use it for traveling, you need something that will fit nice and snug. You don’t want it flying off. You can get covers that are a custom fit for your boat model, or you can get a generic one that will work for your boat. However, be aware that if it’s generic it may not provide the same amount of protection as a custom fit cover. In general, the better the fit, the more protection your boat gets.
What Kind of Fabric?
Boat covers come in all kinds of different fabrics. We recommend looking for a cover made out of a fabric that uses synthetics, not cotton. Cotton fabric simply cannot withstand the harsh UV ray and repel moisture the was polyester and other synthetics can.
What Color?
You wouldn’t think the color of the cover matter, but it does! Darker fabrics will hold up better than lighter ones, so look for dark shades of blue, green, grey, etc. We realize this may seem counterintuitive, but the darker dyes are able to repel UV rays better than whites and light tans.
